Perched on the crest of a hill surveying the sublime blue Ionian Sea to one side and the mountainous interior of Lefkada to the other, villa Lizy offers guests flexible accommodation over two houses, a generous amount of space, and a calming ambience in which to unwind in pure Greek style
The Villa includes two houses connected by a shared shady terrace. Both houses feature lofty wood-beamed ceilings, sandy-coloured floors, a mix of light stone and white-painted walls, plenty of large sliding glass doors and luminous, airy atmospheres.
The larger house is all on one floor. The main entrance takes one past a shower room into a bright living area with a large L-shaped sofa, a fireplace and two wide sets of sliding glass doors opening out onto the terraces and the pool area, and bringing in the sensational sea views. To one side of the fireplace, living area flows into another luminous space given over to a panoramic dining area and a well-equipped kitchen. Once again, large glazed sliding doors open out onto the terraces and pool area.
To the other side of the fireplace, a corridor leads to the larger house’s sleeping quarters, which comprise two bedrooms: the main, generously proportioned double with in-room tub and sink, an en-suite WC, a second double with its own glazed-in en-suite shower room and terrace access.
The smaller property is just a few paces across a shady terrace from the larger house. Here, one enters into a spacious, open-plan communal space with a large sofa, a corner fireplace, and a contemporary kitchen with breakfast bar. In keeping with the larger house, glass doors open out onto wrap-around terraces. Behind the kitchen is a good-sized double-twin bedroom with terrace access and an adjacent shower room.
Completing the accommodation in the smaller house is an open mezzanine level, accessed from and overlooking the living area below. Here there is a large corner sofa under the eaves, a double-twin bed, and an en-suite shower room.Living areas and bedrooms spill out onto gorgeous wrap-around terraces which provide numerous spots in which to recline, lounge, snooze and dine. The area between the two houses is given over to a shaded al fresco dining area and one extremity of the fabulous T-shaped pool, which extends out onto the main sea-facing terrace.
Each of the two houses has its own shady terrace areas, as do some of the individual bedrooms, meaning that there is both plenty of space for coming together as a group as well as a good number of options for a little private time. Depending on where you’re sitting or lounging, you’ll be able to enjoy fabulous sea views, inspiring mountain vistas or a mix of the two.
The very best panoramas, however, are to be had from the main house’s roof terrace, home to a Jacuzzi and the perfect spot for sunbathing or raising a glass to your good fortune as the sun begins its descent into the western sea. Around 15m from the houses, is another dining area, equipped with a wood-burning oven and barbecue.
Last but certainly not least, is the fabulous acrylic-topped asphalt tennis court with floodlights for evening games, situated just a few metres away in the surrounding grounds.
